3 Steps to Your Rebirth

Rebirth is the March 2015 theme of the month at DASHA®.  Today is the official start of the first day of spring, and there is no better time than the present to make the change you want to be and see in your life.  Maybe you want to be more fit and finally lose that weight, maybe you want to make a career change, to get out of a relationship, to kick your smoking habit, or make the trip to Europe you always said you would take.  Change can be scary or overwhelming, so how do you take those first leaps toward turning your dreams into reality?  Here are 3 steps:

ANNOUNCE YOUR PLANS TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS.  If you have a goal, say it loud and clear to those who love and care for you.  There’s nothing more powerful than sending that first signal out into the universe about your desires and intentions.  Write the goal down and stick it as a post-it note on your mirror, or make your statement the screensaver or backdrop on your computer.

START SMALL.  If you want to be more fit, consider coming to DASHA®, where we will listen to your health and wellness goals, do a full body assessment, and design a treatment plan exclusively for your body’s chemistry.  If you want to make a career change that requires more education, enroll in the necessary class that will take you one step closer – you don’t have to go straight to applying for the degree or training program just yet.  If you’re saving for that trip to Europe, start by cutting out your daily Starbucks treats and putting that weekly money into a savings fund.  Dreams can seem impossible to achieve, but when you break them down into the building blocks of what it will actually take to realize them, they won’t seem as intangible and you can enjoy charting your measurable progress.

STUMBLING BLOCKS AND FAILURE AREN’T PERMANENT.  Everyone has good days and bad days, and there is a reason that expressions such as “Nothing ever comes easy” exist – nothing can replace your own hard work, patience, and dedication.  If you take a step backwards, simply try again the next day.  Failures are great teachers that help us to learn and grown stronger.  If everyone quit after failure, nothing would get done at all!

When the road gets tough, think of Theodore Roosevelt who said, “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty…I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.”
