Summer is upon us in full force, and as you get ready for fun in the sun, poolside barbecues, and bathing suit weather, don’t forget to incorporate balance exercises into your workouts! Good balance is VERY important, especially in preventing injuries (one clumsy fall can leave you unable to workout for months), but many people don’t even think about the possibility of improving it through their time at the gym.
Remember, physical fitness has five components (cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, body composition), but so many people focus on only 1 or 2 of them during their time at the gym. A great fitness schedule should contain more than hours of running on the treadmill or bulking up with weight-training. Take the time to improve your balance, and your body will thank you!
