When I was a kid I went through my chubby stage until the age of 16. I got my first real job at a gym selling memberships at the front desk and that’s where my motivation began. I got to exercise and learn techniques that I still use to stay fit.
For the past 10 years, I have worked in the lifestyle and wellness industry developing DASHA®. I work with plenty of doctors who are helping people feel better. It’s crazy that so many ailments and diseases can be prevented if you just live a healthier lifestyle.
DON’T DIET
People who are fit don’t typically diet, they make healthy eating a part of their lifestyle. Ultimately the key to staying fit and eating healthy is learning how to listen to your body. Healthy eating should be a priority in your lifestyle. When you see how good you feel after ditching junk food, it will be easy to stick to it.
That being said, don’t feel guilty about enjoying some ice cream or your favorite cocktail if it makes you happy!
LOOK FORWARD TO YOUR WORKOUTS
If the thought of lacing up your running sneakers or hitting the gym doesn’t excite you, maybe it’s time for a new workout. I definitely get bored with the same old routine so that’s why I take HIIT classes like the ones at Ripped in NYC. The class is different every time I take it.
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH HEALTHY PEOPLE
Think about it: If all of your friends are constantly getting shit faced, eating donuts for dessert, and always going to movies or slumping around for hours, what do you think you’re going to do? Probably follow suit and become just like them. Yet if your friends are into a healthy lifestyle, enjoy trying new restaurants with local, fresh ingredients and suggest going for a run or taking a fitness class, you’ll be in much better shape too!
