I don’t participate in the purchase of meaningless things. Stuff that lies around the house and collects dust in the corners of rooms is a waste and drives me crazy!  Even though my kids sometimes loves to tell me that I just don’t understand them (because you know, I’ve never been a kid before), I don’t want to deprive them from quintessential kid experiences, unless of course they are allergic to something.  So what’s Easter without some chocolate candy and peeps?  Heck, my mom still buys them for me!

The average American consumes 180 pounds of sugar per year.  (In 1750 the average American consumed just 4 pounds of sugar per year.)  No wonder the obesity numbers are skyrocketing.  That’s a crazy amount!  So here’s my spoon of advice – in addition to that one big chocolate bunny or that package of peeps to let your kid be a kid, there are so many healthier Easter basket alternatives if you just get a little creative.  Check out Annie’s Cheddar Bunnies and the Larabar in carrot cake (no artificial flavors)!  You can also get lots of fun candy without all of the crazy unpronounceable chemical ingredients online at the Natural Candy Store!

We will also be giving our oldest son his New York Knicks Summer Basketball Camp experience this Easter, and our younger daughter a little girl fun hair and nails appointment at So Cozy!

Me?  The only thing I want for Easter is some consistently warm weather here in the Big Apple!
