It’s fall and the clocks are about to fall back! Before you relish that extra hour of sleep and complain about the shorter hours of daylight, why not indulge in one of the best reasons to celebrate fall! Hot apple cider!

Here’s an easy, delicious, organic recipe for hot apple cider that will leave your house smelling like fall all day long and warm you head to toe with that very first sip.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 8 hours

Serves: 1 gallon

Ingredients:

10 organic apples (variety of brands is fine)

1 orange

2 cinnamon sticks

Nutmeg

Cloves

1 gallon filtered water

Instructions:

Wash 10 apples and cut them into slices. If they are not organic, be sure to peel them and throw the peels away.

Slice one orange into 8 slices.

Add 2 cinnamon sticks, a dash of ground nutmeg, a dash of cloves (ground or 4 whole) and 1 gallon of filtered water.

Put it in the slow cooker for 8 hours.

Breathe deeply.

(Because it smells so good.)

Strain out apples and spices using a cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer.
