The Fourth of July is so much more than a day off from work. It’s a time to reflect on and appreciate our freedoms, and of course to celebrate the summer season alongside friends and family.
Here’s a few thoughts from just some of the DASHA®️ team on Fourth of July
“I love that there are no ‘obligations’ attached to the Fourth of July. Unlike other holidays, expectations are low. You hang with whoever’s around and the celebratory aspect is surrounded by the best summertime food: Grilled corn, watermelon (yes, one year my cousin and I finished an entire watermelon by ourselves!), burgers, guacamole…and of course Mister Softee cherry dips!”
“Fourth of July is one day I know I am spending outside in the sun. Whether it’s at a park, the beach or a friend’s backyard, I take the day to soak in the sun since most of my work days are spent inside. Also, I usually get together with friends I don’t see often because it is one of the only holidays when everyone is off from work. Good company, good eats, good weather—that’s all I need!”
“I love the fireworks. I got married on the Fourth of July, and it is the only time of the year besides New Year’s Eve when everyone is on the same page. We’re all looking up at the same thing. We are all seeing rainbows and shooting stars. With my kids at camp, it’s the one time when I know we’re doing the same thing.”
“Ever since I was a little girl, the fourth of July has symbolized the freedom of summer. Ten months out of the year, I balance work with my daughters’ busy school and activity schedules. Once July 4th hits, I relish that two-month window of less stress and less routine.”
Wishing you all a very special 4th!
