Today’s she-nan-igans Don’t let my pretty face fool you. I’m in full on BEAST MODE! So what does that mean exactly? Well I signed up for three half marathons:

  1. #NYUnitedAirlinesHalf Marathon
  2. #WomenRunTheWorld
  3. #RNRSANDIEGO

But this means it’s time to fuel up! With all the running and training I am doing I must not forget to eat and sleep properly. So my alarm has been set for 6:30 am daily “RISE UP”, get moving!

Then the mission begins, kids, breakfast, and lunches I have to make. I’m happy to say the kid’s lunches are finally looking more colorful now thanks to the rainbow preparation from mom! Speaking of mom, of course I sneak a cookie in with their lunches because “I am my mother’s daughter.”

I’ve been asked quite a few times by my friends “What do you eat, because you are too skinny?” Shit! I love you people for saying that but maybe instead of insulting me you can actually pass me a compliment? Listen up, I have been exercising since I was 16 years old and my closest of friends know that about me. Back then I was concerned about being skinny but now it’s all about being strong! Trust me on this one, to be married, with kids, run a business, live in NYC… I need to take care of ME!

So after my fitness craze which usually takes place between 8:30-12. I have already consumed this list:

  • Oatmeal
  • Apple
  • Snack
  • Jug of h20

Then I prepare for lunch about 2 hrs later. Here are a few of my favs:

  • Chicken with rice
  • Salad with sushi
  • A nice bowl of chili
  • Snack time

By the time dinner rolls around I am ready to eat my hands like an baby! My treat is sometimes good…sometimes naughty but I never eat chocolate at night!

I have three tips that can help to keep off those extra calories off at home:

  1. No eating anywhere but the kitchen table
  2. Do not eat a heavy meal after 8pm
  3. Have a cup of chamomile tea or hot water with lemon just after dinner (you will be satisfied, and it will help with your digestion)

Question:Do you like oatmeal? If so, what do you like to put on it?
