The holidays are such an amazing time of year – there’s so much to celebrate. The downside to all of the magical spirit flurrying in the air is that it can get stressful.
So how do you balance it all? Here are some helpful tips from DASHA®️ that will help to keep you focused and even gain some extra time for yourself:
It’s OK to Say NO This is one of the hardest things to do during the holidays. We get it, you want to spend time everyone and not let anyone down. But guess what? You’re going to drive yourself crazy overbooking yourself. Your network of people will understand, go ahead and spend that time doing something for YOU.
Take a breather Yoga and meditation tend to be the go-to’s, but any type of breathing exercise will work. Stop and give yourself a ten minute timeout at least three times a day and take some deep breaths. In (through the nose) and out (through the nose). It’s super easy and will help calm your mind, body and soul.
Remember To Hydrate
We all know it’s tough to drink water, and for whatever reason, it’s more difficult to drink water in the wintertime! And even though you may not feel thirsty, our bodies still get dehydrated in the colder temperatures! By drinking water, you are actually giving your immune system a boost which is crucial during cold and flu season! So avoid the stress of will-I-won’t-I get sick this time of year and just drink a little extra H2O! (Sha’s tip: filling up on water also helps to curb your appetite during those holiday parties with tempting and highly caloric snacks!
Don’t Lose Sight of the Reason for the Season
It’s so easy to get caught up in the negative aspects of the holidays – overcrowded stores, family drama, traffic, over-scheduling..etc. Try to take a step back and appreciate all of the good things that happened in your day. Remain present and clear your mind.
