Spring is here, which I’m beyond psyched about (finally!), and Dr. Pollack is close to 100% again following his surgery just 6 weeks ago. I’m training for the More Magazine/Fitness Magazine half-marathon in April, trying to get my kids ready for a little spring break escape, and already thinking about what to do for Passover next month. Oh, and on top of that I’m still talking on two phones at once, typing on the computer and running around between our DASHA® locations, doing things like accepting the delivery for our new incredible FreeMotion i11.9 Incline Trainer! Such is the life of a busy mom – always thinking two steps ahead of everyone else. And now it’s time to write about some of my favorite things, before March disappears into April!
FASHION – There’s still a nip in the air – it’s not quite time to put away the winter coats. DASHA® keeps me warm and stylish! Purchase a limited edition DASHA® beanie for just $20, and all proceeds will go toward research at The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. We are so happy to be able to offer this to members of the DASHA® Community and to be able to participate in our community by giving back in such a fun way. Now you can look good and feel good doing it! Call us now at 212-755-5500 to purchase one.
FOOD – My household has gone gluten-free and…shocker! We’re actually loving it and being more adventurous with food than ever before. Our newest favorite is quinoa pasta from Pereg. Quinoa is high in fiber, easy to digest, and easily prepared with just a few additional flavors like garlic, basil, touch of salt, black peppercorn pepper and coconut oil. A wonderful substitute for carb heavy pasts, Pereg quinoa is perfect for those who have celiac disease or follow special diets.
BEAUTY – My amazing, wondrous hair stylist and hair cutter extraordinaire Igor Santos offers this recipe to help keep my highlighted locks at their optimum level of glossy and bouncy. Put 6 bags of chamomile tea in 2 cups of hot water with a little conditioner, and empty contents into a spray bottle. Shake, wet and comb through hair liberally. Voila! Your hair is revitalized. (I love homemade remedies!)
CULTURE – My girlfriend and I took our sons to see Rocky the musical this past week. We thought a little culture combined woven into a sports theme was the perfect recipe for pre-adolescent boys! Let’s put it this way – they sat still through the whole thing! I’d say that’s success. The second act was super fun! Boxing fans and fans of the movie will not be disappointed.
SELF – The theme of the month at DASHA® is Technology. Have you tried the PhysioRED!? DASHA® is raffling off three PhysioRED sessions, a $162 value that can only be redeemed at our Flagship location. The PhysioRED will have you doing a reclined cycling workout within a heated chamber. The infrared light generates heat that expands your capillaries, warms your muscle fibers, and stimulates your blood circulation. The PhysioRED is an FDA-listed device, and is ideal for those who are overweight, recovering from an injury, or seeking a low-impact workout. Click HERE to enter to win now!
Until next month, enhance your well-being!
