To uniform or not to uniform?

My business, DASHA®, is a wellness center with a chiropractic focus that also offers physical therapy, personal training, pilates, massage and acupuncture services.  We aim to be one-stop shopping for all of your fitness and wellness needs.  Rather than have our clients run out to three separate appointments for their chiropractic adjustments, pilates class, or massage, they can come to one place, be treated in one fell swoop, and leave DASHA® feeling better than when they first walked through the door.  We pride ourselves on having a competent team who will get to know you and treat your entire body, not just one or two areas.

Having tried various incarnations of dress codes at work, we have found, over time, that nothing works better for our image and both client and employee needs than a standard uniform.  We give our team members the option of wearing a t-shirt, collared shirt or hoodie with the DASHA® logo on it.  The shirts are comfortable, sleek and easy to work in physically.  The overall look of the shirts also imprints positively on our clients – our staff looks polished, but the clients also see that uniform and truly feel that they are being taken care of by a team of competent professionals who communicate and understand all of their issues and goals.

As the owner of my business, I don’t have to worry that my staff, interfacing with clients on a daily basis, won’t look put together or will make fashion choices that may be a little too wild or creative for our line of work.  We anticipated the transition might be challenging, but it’s been seamless.  For those business owners whose fields could also warrant the use of uniforms, I highly recommend it.  We receive so much information visually, and in a culture where we make snap judgments on a daily basis, a sharp uniform sends a positive signal.  Your team will look smart and your clients will see it and feel it.
