Many people think that “diet” is synonymous with giving up every single indulgence, from dessert to cheese to alcohol. The question of alcohol and dieting is a common one, so we thought we would share our “Views on Booze.” At F-Factor, we believe you can and should be able to drink moderately even if you are trying to lose weight. After all, alcohol is not the reason Americans are overweight. Many of our clients successfully lose weight and keep it off without having to abstain from alcohol.
Having said that, many dieters need to come to terms with what kind of drinker they are. If having a drink or two lowers their inhibitions to the point where they feel less disciplined they are inclined to reach for the bread basket or grab a few cookies, than drinking could affect their ability to lose weight. Drinking and dieting can mix, but you have to know your weak spots so you can plan accordingly.
