Happy Olympics Opening Day!

We are so excited to watch the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London this evening!

We wanted to share this article we read today from the August 2012 issue of Details magazine. Cover star Michael Phelps, famous member of the US Swimming Team and record-breaking holder of 16 Olympic medals, discusses how he got to where he is today, what he’s been up to since the Bejing Olympics, and his nutrition, training, and recovery schedule for the 2012 Games. When asked about how he recovers from intensive training (the Olympian swims 50,000 meters per week combined with explosive lifting), he says:

“My trainer, Keenan

[Robinson], uses Graston tools, these little metal crowbars. He carves them into my shoulder blades, my back, my knee, my hamstrings— wherever I’m really tight—to loosen things up.”

We at DASHA have been longtime believers in the effectiveness of the Graston Technique (all of DASHA’s chiropractors are certified practitioners), and with an Olympic Gold Medalist attesting to the fact that Graston tools “help me to be close to my best every time I jump in the water,” it’s no wonder that many of our clients feel the same way.

Curious about how Graston Technique at DASHA can help you? We’d love for you to try it out!

We hope that you all have a wonderful weekend kicking off the 2012 Olympic Games! Planning any Olympic-themed viewing parties? We’d love to hear from you!
